What Is NovoCare® Diabetes Support?

Managing diabetes requires guidance, education, and often financial support, especially as medication costs continue to rise. NovoCare® diabetes is Novo Nordisk’s patient support platform designed to address all of these needs in one place.

The platform serves as a central hub where patients can verify insurance coverage, explore cost assistance programs, access educational materials, and, for those starting certain Novo Nordisk medications, connect with a free health coach. So, how does the platform work exactly? What should you expect? And are there any other options?

How Does the NovoCare® Platform Work?

NovoCare® brings together what was previously scattered across separate resources. Cornerstones4Care®, a well-known diabetes education platform, now operates as NovoCare® Diabetes Education and Resources. All content from that platform migrated to this unified location, pairing savings options with educational materials in a single destination.

Through the platform, patients can check whether their insurance covers a specific medication and may receive an estimated pharmacy cost. If coverage information isn’t immediately available, patients can contact NovoCare® directly for further assistance.

Beyond insurance verification, the platform provides structured educational content, downloadable tracking tools, and lifestyle resources. Patients using NovoCare® Pharmacy’s direct delivery service can also access benefit verification, refill reminders, and live support from a NovoCare® case manager.

Who Can Use NovoCare® Services?

NovoCare® diabetes support is available to patients at any stage of their diabetes journey. Healthcare providers also have access to these tools for prior authorizations, coverage checks, and patient assistance applications.

Some features are specifically tied to patients beginning certain Novo Nordisk medications. One-on-one health coaching, for example, becomes available when starting select products and runs for up to six months at no cost to the patient.

How NovoCare® Helps with Medication Costs

Affordability is one of the most common barriers to consistent diabetes care. NovoCare® diabetes addresses this through several programs designed to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket medication costs depending on a patient’s situation. These include:

MyInsulinRx and Insulin Savings

For patients with commercial insurance or no insurance coverage, MyInsulinRx offers a straightforward way to access Novo Nordisk insulin at a reduced monthly cost of $35 for any combination of covered insulin products, up to 3 vials or 2 packs of pens.

However, re-enrollment is required each calendar year, and eligibility restrictions apply.

Patient Assistance Programs

The Novo Nordisk Patient Assistance Program (PAP) provides medication at no cost to those who qualify, with no registration fee or monthly participation fee.

To be eligible in 2026, patients must be U.S. citizens or legal residents with no insurance and meet program eligibility requirements. Total household income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level for Ozempic®, while all other medications require income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level.

It’s worth noting that Medicare beneficiaries with Part D coverage may no longer be eligible for Ozempic® through the Patient Assistance Program in 2026, as most Medicare Part D plans now cover the medication. Uninsured patients can still access Ozempic® through PAP, provided their income falls within the qualifying threshold. Approved applicants may also be eligible to receive up to a 120-day supply of their medication through the end of the calendar year.

Checking Your Insurance Coverage

Before heading to the pharmacy, patients can use NovoCare®’s online insurance verification tool to confirm whether their plan covers a specific medication. Some patients receive coverage details quickly, often including an estimated pharmacy cost. This can help avoid surprises at the counter and allow patients to explore alternative options if cost is a concern.

Diabetes Education and Coaching Through NovoCare®

NovoCare® diabetes provides a range of structured educational tools and human support to help patients feel confident in managing their day-to-day health.

One-on-One Health Coaching

Patients who begin certain Novo Nordisk medications can connect with a diabetes health coach through NovoCare® at no cost for up to six months. Coaching is usually tailored to individual questions or concerns and covers the topics that matter most to you, including how to use your medication or device correctly, blood glucose monitoring, lifestyle adjustments, and other aspects of day-to-day diabetes management.

Educational Materials and Tracking Tools

NovoCare® offers a library of downloadable resources covering meal planning, carbohydrate counting, healthy eating strategies, and dining out guidance. Additional materials address managing diabetes in children with type 1 and navigating sick days.

Additionally, a free downloadable blood glucose tracker lets patients log readings, carbohydrate intake, and daily events to share with their healthcare team. The platform also provides information on digital monitoring devices, including continuous glucose monitors and connected insulin pens.

Support for Caregivers

NovoCare® extends its resources to caregivers of those managing diabetes. The platform includes content specifically for care partners, offering guidance and tools to help them better support their loved ones throughout the diabetes journey.

How to Build a Diabetes Management Plan in 2026

Having the right tools is only part of the picture. A clear, individualized plan makes it possible to move from knowing what to do to consistently doing it.

Working With Your Care Team

Your care team plays a central role in building a plan that fits your lifestyle. Working with a licensed provider to outline which medications to take, at what doses, and when—based on your blood glucose levels, eating patterns, and activity—helps ensure your approach is tailored to your needs.

Digital Tools for Monitoring Progress

Technology has made tracking diabetes today far more manageable. Some tools worth noting (and potentially using) include:

  • Continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) provide real-time blood glucose readings via a small wearable device, helping identify trends without the need for frequent fingersticks.
  • Connected insulin pens now pair with smartphone apps to guide proper dosing and generate digital reports that can be shared directly with a provider.
  • Fitness trackers and smartwatches add another layer of accountability for staying active, all without requiring a prescription.

It’s also important to set realistic goals. This matters just as much as having the right tools. At the end of the day, even small incremental progress is meaningful and can lead to meaningful improvements over time.

If you’re looking for a more accessible way to connect with a licensed provider, Eden can help. Through a simple online intake process, Eden connects you with a licensed healthcare provider who will review your health history, goals, and current situation and ultimately determine the most appropriate next step for you.

Final Thoughts

NovoCare® diabetes offers a broad support system for patients navigating diabetes management. Overall, the platform is built to reduce barriers and make consistent care more achievable.

As always, speak with a qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your diabetes treatment plan. They can perform a thorough evaluation to ensure you’re getting the best care.
